Courier angels...

This week we are so grateful to a family in New York adopting through the same agency as ours, whom we haven't met in person and probably never will, who are making their first trip to Ethiopia tomorrow and have graciously offered to take our sweet Ethan a care package from us. As I have posted before, Jeremy and I recorded our voices reading the lovely book, "Guess How Much I Love You" so the caregivers at the transition home can show it to him every night before he goes to sleep - that way he can start recognizing our voices! We also sent him a warm outfit since it can get a little chilly there at night.

We pray for all of the families, including our courier angels, who are traveling this week for their court date. May God bless them and keep them safe. We also pray they can pass court on the very first try!

Here's a picture of our care package goodies.

  1. How sweeeet!!! I love this book!!! Oh I love this book!!! I think that's brilliant that you can record your voices!?!? I didn't know you could do that! We might steal that idea when it's our referral time.

I bet you are just dying for March to be here!!!?? What an exciting time. How kind of your NYC family to do this for you? Love the shirt. So cute!!!

    Have a great week!

  2. steal away! I would love to say I came up with that idea all by myself but it was actually through a conversation with a friend of mine who recommended we did that. And I thought that was pure genius and then proceeded to get mad because I didn't think about it before!! hehe Just kidding!

We included a picture of us as well so he can start recognizing our voice and faces as well. This idea came from our social worker and again I was just stunned that I didn't think about it before. Typical first-time parent I didn't even think about a baby being able to recognize people on pictures! duh!! :-)

I am counting down the days and trying to stay as busy as I possibly can to not think too much about it. It's torture being this far from him!
